Head is an experienced drummer whose expertise includes mastery of the traditional Arab drum, the tabla, as well as the ud, mizmar, nay and mijwiz. Head was raised in a musical family and studied classical guitar for 12 years. His research of the history of classical guitar led him first to Medieval lute music and then to the ‘ud, the Arab stringed instrument that is the predecessor to both the lute and guitar.; He has studied Arab music theory and performance with Simon Shaheen, Jihad Racy, Bassam Saba, Hamid Alwan and Sakhar Hattar.
