On November 7, 2003, Call for Peace held its first annual
Madison Celebrity Night at the Madison Concourse Hotel. With over 800 attendees, Celebrity Night proved that the
Madison community is interested in and supportive of Call
for Peace and
its nonprofit partners.
With Patty Loew of Wisconsin Public Television and
Justin Williams of NBC 15 as hosts, the event showcased the
work of Community Shares of Wisconsin, the Bayview
International Center for Education and the Arts, Madison
Area Urban Ministry, Project JAMAD, Madison Earth Charter
Community, Wisconsin Dance Council and Hancock Center for
Dance Therapy, Scott Mitchen, Friends of Monona Bay and
Friends of Dane County Parks. Colier McNair and the Madison Community Gospel Choir, Al
Jewer, and Matt Anderson and the DC (Dane County) Improv All
Stars provided music and comic entertainment as the public
participated in a Silent Auction.
Proceeds from the event benefited Call for Peace and
supported their travel to Rome, Italy for the Nobel Peace
Prize Summit.

all of the sponsors, members and volunteers for their
contributions to Call for Peace," Director Dawn
Shegonee said, "because without them, our work would
not be possible."
